Please use our "contact us" page to set up a tour. We ask that you contact us at least two weeks in advance.

How can I get a copy of a fire report?

We usually hire in the early spring. Please stop in at Princeton City Hall or contact the station for an application.

How much training does a firefighter require?

Princeton firefighters are required to be Firefighter 1&2 trained along with Emergency medical Responder and Haz Mat Op's. Training for a new firefighter usually takes a little under a year to complete. The cost is covered by the department.

How do I check my smoke detector?

Press and hold the button. The alarm should sound. If you hear chirping, replace the battery. Smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide alarms should be replaced every five to seven years.

What is the best fire extinguisher for my home?

A multi purpose (ABC) fire extinguisher will extinguish most household fires. The rating on the extinguisher should be at least 2A-10B-C. Only fire extinguishers with metal handles can be refilled. The fire department does not service fire extinguishers.

What type of fire department is Princeton?

Princeton Fire and Rescue is a volunteer paid-on-call department. Firefighters respond to the station and then to the call. Most of the time, the firefighters are at home or work.
