POLICE OFFICER POSITION
Police Officer-Salary Range: $27.19 - 37.30 Deadline: Friday, March 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM

The City of Princeton Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Those eligible and encouraged to apply include: officers desiring to make a lateral transfer, those completing law enforcement skills in 2023, and those who have completed law enforcement skills but are not yet P.O.S.T licensed. Specific job expectations and requirements are identified in the job description. Candidates must successfully complete the interview evaluation process, background check, psychological exam, and physical fitness exam that are required for the position. General Duties: To perform protection, prevention, enforcement, call response, pursuit, investigation, arrest, reporting, testifying in court and related community policing responsibilities in order to preserve the peace and promote the safety of citizens throughout the City of Princeton.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
     • Associate Degree and / or certificate in law enforcement.
     • Must be P.O.S.T. licensed or eligible prior to hiring.
     • Must successfully pass a background investigation and complete a one-year probationary period.

SPLASH PARK COORDINATOR INTERN

The City of Princeton is hiring a Splash Park Coordinator Intern for the summer.  Pay is at Grade 3, $15.00 per hour. Minimum of 15-20 hours per week.  This is a seasonal part-time hourly (non-exempt) position. Attendance at evening, weekends and/or holidays is required when activities fall on those days. Hours are not to exceed 25 hours per week without prior authorization during the Splash Pad operating season (Memorial Day through Labor Day).  Must be able to start position in May on or before May 15, 2023. 

Minimum qualifications:  Experience in supervising others and coordinating recreational programs is preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification is required and will be provided for by the City of Princeton.  Applicants working towards a degree in Parks and Recreation or related field desired.

General Duties:  Responsible for the supervision and scheduling/staffing of the Splash Park Attendants, as well as overseeing daily operations of the Splash Park.  Coordinate Splash Park marketing in collaboration with Community Development Planner promoting splash park events, programs, and closings through social media, advertisements, flyers, and coordination with media outlets.  Supervise, train and schedule the Splash Park Attendants.  Organize and track admission records and coordinate snack counter operations and inventory.  Oversee daily cash drawer balancing and deposits.  Coordinate recreational and community activities with other community groups and organizations such as businesses, churches and schools, etc.  Obtain sponsorships for events by coordinating with local businesses and residents.  Prepare and provide first aid and other incident reports to the Community Development Planner.  Prepare annual report listing all Splash Park activities for the year along with participation numbers and present findings to Park Board.

RECREATION, MARKETING, AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR INTERN
The City of Princeton is hiring a Recreation, Marketing, and Communications Coordinator Intern for the summer.  Pay is at Grade 3, $15.00 per hour. Minimum of 15-20 hours per week.  This is a part-time hourly (non-exempt) position. Attendance at evening, weekends and/or holidays is required when activities fall on those days. Hours in the office are to be adjusted to accommodate evening events and are not to exceed 20 hours without prior authorization. Must be able to start position in May on or before May 15, 2023.

Minimum qualifications:  Graduation from or currently enrolled in a college program working toward a degree in communications, public relations, community development, recreation/physical education or related field, supplemented by experience in communications, public relations, recreation/program management experience; or any combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities. Past experience in managing communication and/or recreation programs for other cities will be given additional consideration. CPR and First Aid Certification will be required and provided by the City of Princeton.  Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license. Knowledge of community communication as well as recreation work and administration; Knowledge of budget principles. Ability to develop and implement well-rounded communication strategies and recreation and community programs. Ability to supervise several volunteers and workers engaged in varied tasks simultaneously.

General Duties:  Develop and implement a communications strategy utilizing multiple media platforms to communicate the objectives outlined by the Mayor, City Council and Department Heads for the City to the Community.  Interact with City residents, businesses owners, department personnel and public officials to provide information relating to recreation and community development programs as requested.  Update the City website and other social media outlets.  Conduct outreach and community engagement activities to build community pride.  Write grants or pursue other funding sources to supplement the costs of events/programs as directed.  Develop and implement Splash Park Event marketing in collaboration with the Splash Park Coordinator.  Supervise City recreational programs.  Participate in and is present at all sponsored events.  Promote recreation and community programs through social media, advertisements, flyers, coordination with media outlets etc.  Coordinate recreation and community activities with other community groups and organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Age Friendly, businesses, churches, schools and local civic organizations.  Maintain yearly budget for recreational programs in coordination with the Community Development Planner.  Provide written or verbal updates at Park Board and City Council meetings as requested.  Prepare an annual report listing all recreation activities for the year along with participation numbers.  Evaluate programs on an on-going basis for community interest and recommends changes or proposes new programs as needed.  Establish and maintain a strong base of volunteers to assist with larger community events.  Oversee the proper maintenance and inventory of all recreation and community program equipment.
